Well Engineering Subject Matter Expert
Location: HOUSTON, TEXAS/ NORWay/ UK
Summary
Are you one of our new Subject Matter Experts (SME)?
A Wells Subject Matter Expert within Stimline may support development projects, software implementations, user testing and operational support and business development efforts. The role will support several products and clients, potentially in different regions. You will provide insight into best practices within drilling and intervention operations from an Energy Company perspective. You will work with the software development team to create specifications for new products and collaborative workflows designed to improve the efficiency of job planning, job execution, daily and final reporting and analysis post job. Ideally, you will have recent experience planning and executing drilling, completion or intervention operations, and have a passion for improving how that process works.
Please note: Work permit in USA and/or EU required
YOU WILL NEED
- A BS/MS degree in a related subject from a recognized and approved program
- A minimum of 5 years industry experience, preferably with an Energy Company or major Service Company, from working in the Drilling & Wells domain
- Strong knowledge of different types of drilling and/or intervention planning and operations
- Excellent communication skills, influencing skills, strong team player, open and transparent communicator across diverse multidiscipline teams and partners to create integrated products that add value to the business
DESIRABLE CRITERIA
- Drilling operations planning software experience – either in-house proprietary or commercial
- Working knowledge of Drilling Engineering, Well Completions, P&A Operations, Petroleum Engineering
- Offshore safety permits
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work with both the development team and clients to define requirements and create scope for new products
- Be a key contributor in evaluating and prioritizing new features and functionality
- Trial test new software products
- Provide technical user support to designing advanced well operations – drilling, completions, interventions and P&A
- Provide technical sales support for client presentations
- Act as client success manager for a domain

Tasks
Business Development of Key Accounts
- Management of existing clients by building long lasting, and developing trusted advisor, relationships with key accounts in order to increase customer retention and loyalty. This will require regular face to face meetings with clients
- Provide a clear strategy for deployment of new or developing products with demos and training toward customers and managing implementations
- Collaborate with customers to understand their needs and obstacles in realizing their ambition for improved planning and cost savings within drilling & intervention operations
- Support customers in driving their digital transformation processes, including identification of new digital use cases
- Lead the implementation of our products to deliver quick and measurable business value for the clients
- Create product positioning strategies so that products get noticed by end-users
- Ensure the timely and successful delivery of our solutions according to customer needs and objectives
- Identify consumer needs and provide detailed information on how to meet the need to product development team
